Tires aren’t tires. Much if it is about the specs your car or truck requires or you want. Sure Michelin typically makes a great tire, but what do you need out of a tire - Z rating, run flat, track like handling or just a general tire, etc.

I’ve been running BF Goodrich KO2’s on all of my vehicles since high school. They’re great.
Edit: just noticed you’ve got a V8 sedan.. not going to work for you. But what kind of sedan do you have with a V8???

Michelin if money is no object. I am looking at Michelin, BFG and Continental tires for replacement in 303/30/19 Not cheap... and 10k miles out of tires for this car, that is funny...

I know people consider Michelin the gold standard (and this is anecdotal) but I haven't had good experiences with them. The best tires I've had have been Goodyears.

Goodyear = American
Continental = German
Michelin** = French
Pirelli = Italian/Chinese
Bridgestone* = Japanese
*World’s Largest Tire Manufacturer by volume
**Also owns the brands Uniroyal & Goodrich
Continental for me but I’ve had good service out of all five of these.

Cooper or any of the tire labels who use Cooper Mfg (Dick Cepek, etc.).

Pirelli
I am on my third set for two cars. Long tread life and gripping ability in dry and wet conditions. Quiet too!
I think that most of the brand names are all good tires. It comes down to the purpose the tire is being used for, and what you value.

Falken makes phenomenal truck tires
I used to buy Toyo but I’ve had 3 pairs and I’ve found that they wear out incredibly fast and they’re generally shite tires on a lot of different levels

Michelin is on the wife's car. No need for the kids to be on the side of the road for being cheap.

I always ran Michelin on sport sedans, they make a good tire.
On my Jeep it is nothing buy BFG or Cooper.
I quit running Goodyear a long time ago. Like back in the 90s long time ago. Had issues.

Michelin has given me the most even tread wear, better ride and longest tire life of any brand I’ve used. I’ve had several sets of continental, bf Goodrich, pirelli and one of 2 other brands in the past 20 years. I’m at the end of my first set of Michelin’s and have been so impressed that I’ll be switching everything else over when they come up

Changing out the terrible stock runflats for a set of Michelin PS4S completely changed the feel of my car. Superb grip, low road noise, and great wear.
