The problem is having a vehicle that requires Z rated tires. Jesus do those things wear out fast.

It doesn't help when most of those cars now have different sizes front to rear preventing rotating. It all comes out even in the end but you may replace rears twice as often as fronts.

Some trivia about Z ratings. There are actually 4 Z ratings. There is the plain Z for speeds in excess of 149 but there is a stopping point for a pure Z rated tire but it has no specific number but generally considered to the the old Euro sedan limit of 155. For cars having top speeds higher than 155 you need tires with a further deliniation. They will still be a Z rating in the standard tire lettering but will have the supplemental speed rating in the service description at the end after the load index. A W is for speeds up to 168, a Y is for speeds up to 186, and for speeds over 186 the Y and the load index will be in parenthesis.

Also, there is no engineering reason for a high speed-rated tire to wear quickly it is just Z rated tires are almost always used on higher performance cars so they don't use high durometer "rubber" on high speed rated tires.

First hand experience: goodyear is awful. Had to replace at 30,000 miles. Buddy had the same exact tires and had the same problem.
.

That’s my experience, also. Goodyears have been disappointing.

For me, it’s BFGoodrich or Michelin.

I had a 1989 Porsche 944S2. Not only did it have different tire sizes on the front and rear but they were directional so they couldn’t be rotated. PITA but what a fun car to drive. Drove like it was on rails with perfect 50/50 weight distribution front to rear.

I do recall that.

I am going to need 4 new tires for mine. Try finding decent Z rated 16” for FUCHs these days. Not a whole lot out there in the 245/45’s with more than a 200 wear rating. Jump down to 225/50 and there are few options.

So we just said France wins at something, right?

Coopers are great tires as are Uniroyal (which are Michelin’s).
