The firms you mentioned, if staying in state. V&E or one of the other BigLaw firms in Texas if they aren't staying in state.

Very few. Ones who take Texas don’t need Louisiana bar to make more money. Louisiana bar passers waive into Texas after 5 years so they just wait. Only 5-10 per year take both.

Brezeale is not pulling top 10. They’re a very good firm but the starting salary is not as high as Phelps, Kean, Adams & Reese, Jones Walker, and Baker Donelson.

I did both right out of law school. Texas was easier than Louisiana.

If you can make it rain, you will be successful regardless of your grades.

It’s all about getting the clients. Same as most businesses.

No clients = no money

You can be #1 in your class and starve if you go out on your own and can’t pull clients.

That’s how well known law firms suddenly fold. The rainmakers leave, retire, or die with no one that can take their place.
