Was asked this question today and it was interesting and thought I would get the OTs opinion.

Which is worse, an innocent man going to jail for a crime he did not commit, or a guilty man walking free of a crime he did commit.

Depends on what the crime is.

That’s not even comparable.

Innocent man in prison by far.

I immediately said innocent man jailed but the rebuttal was “what if the killer/rapist walks free and kills/rapes again”

An innocent man jailed affects one life/family but a free criminal could affect many.

what if the innocent man becomes embittered and upon his parole litters because they have lost respect for the law?

I’d rather have criminals that go free than have an innocent man in jail. All day every day. No question.

Innocent jailed is double the wrong because the guilty also walks free and the victims still don't receive proper Justice.

No it is not.

A man getting away with raping a child is worse than a man wrongly going to jail for a month for shoplifting.
