Unbelievably reliable. Wife and 2 kids drive ES350s of various vintages. 2 of the 3 have over 100k and maintenance only.

You can buy a 2021 BMW M3 for the same price as a 2021 F-150

Who is the uppity fool

People are uppity.

Cars aren’t.

I use to own BMW's. There is no doubt a refinement with the interior and things like the suspension for handling but recently I think they are cutting back. Does not have the same feel, even the doors are not heavy anymore. You can feel them when closing the door.

But top end BMW's are still very nice, entertainment system with hand gesters, seat massagers.

Step up from what I drive

That said, it wears off after a month and you use the core things and thats what you have to love for the price you pay.

While I agree Lexus is tops in reliability, making 100k isn't remarkable these days. I would expect those 350s to double and maybe triple that without much repair, if at all, if maintained.

Incidentally--Mazda took over on the top spot for consumer reports this year, which is normally topped by Lexus/Toyota. Getting spun off by ford a dozen years ago is the best thing that happened to them. They just don't have a "luxury" tier so they're stuffing more into their mainline vehicles.

My ES330 travel car 9 months ago when I changed the tranny fluid, it has ~425k now. Under $1700 of repairs in that time, none were before 285k except I had a $3 brake light bulb go out at ~150k.

No, I own a Euro and I’m jealous of Lexus reliability

I consider them to be the only brand worthy of comparison to European luxury

We test drove a 4runner and a Lexus gx460. I was more comfortable in the passenger seat of the Lexus

I am a hard core Toyota person because I hate having a car need anything but maintenance.

I don’t think vehicles are a status symbol anymore outside of extremely expensive sports cars.

Seriously, why do people buy Land Rovers if the reliability is so poor? Are there not better alternatives?

Allegedly, since Tata took over Land Rover, reliability issues are not nearly as bad as they once were. With that said, I still wouldn’t want to own one.

Didn’t go with any above. Bought a Volvo for the wife and she loves it and has been really great car, going on 3 years. Except the tires for some reason. She prob just drives it tough, or me for a beer run. But it’s a fun car. Xc90 all out with the polestar. A lot of moving parts so I got the good warranty. Haven’t had to use it. (Yet)

ETA: I don’t think it’s “uppity” but bought it bc it’s safe which brand is known for, and the room. It had all the lux she wanted and I think looks good. Honestly didn’t look at other bc I liked the safety and functionality of a smaller suv.

Neighbor just bought his wife an all out gmc delali Tahoe. Says he gets 10 mpg and always at the pump bc it only has a 18 gallon tank. It’s beautiful though.

Didn’t you get the memo? They will finance a car for any slob in the 21st century.
