I've actually used all three over the years, more or less interchangeably and without strong preference, although I've settled into backpack more commonly of late.

depends on what it looks like if it's on your back it's a backpack. If you're carrying it in your hand its a book sack. Unless there are no books in it. Then it's a purse.

Used to say "backpack" in school. Now it's just "pack".

Never used or heard "booksack".
