If you aren't camping/hiking and you're wearing a backpack after college, you're a choade.

This one reminds of maps of usa states with soda, pop, sodapop regional uses.

From the info in thread, booksack is southeastern louisiana.

I had a booksack like that with a stagecoach and cowboys shooting up Indians on the flap when I was in 2nd grade. I think it was made of brown vinyl.

Why do people look at me like I'm ancient when I say "booksack"?

It's never just been books that go in the fabric compartment. Booksack has never been mainstream and has never made sense. It's used to PACK a multitude of things and it goes on your BACK.

It's a backpack.

May God have mercy on your soul.

It's a sack, it is not a bag.

What other bag is shaped like this?

Booksack... of course.

I never heard the term "Booksack" until I moved to Louisiana. I say bookbag or backpack.

Booksack when I was in school.

The one I take to work with me now as an adult is a backpack.

What my son brings with him to school is now a school bag.
