I would skip Cozumel/Cancun and pick a Sandal's resort in Antigua/Barbados/St.Lucia, etc.

I have stayed at four of their resorts and they are nice.

Too much to explore in the USA. I've been overseas many times and nothing compares to the USA.

US - there are way too many options and sights to see that the Caribbean can't come close to offering.

Ex: Grand Canyon, NYC, Rocky Mountains, Chicago, San Francisco, The Badlands, etc....

Personally, I love driving through our great country and exploring new places off the beaten path. The road trip is just as fun for me as the actual vacation. I'm not really enticed by those all-inclusive packages.

Much prefer being able to explore all of the local attractions a US destination would offer as opposed to staying in some generic all inclusive resort. What's the point if you're stuck in a resort for fear of being killed if you step outside the gates?

I like Destin and the beaches in the Miami area. When I can go to see my family in Costa Rica they are 30 minutes from the beach and love going there. It's a different vibe going to the beach there then here.

Only place I would love to visit within the United States that I have haven't been to yet is New York.
Outside the country I would like to go to most of the Caribbean islands and Panama City, Panama.

We do three trips a year. Two big (Winter & Summer) and one small (kids get out of school).

The past year has been Ouray, CO (Winter) and St George Island FL (Summer). Gaudeloupe River house after school.....this year they want to go to NOLA

I'd agree that the US has so much to see that many of us miss. We've done WI, DC, Chicago, etc. and I will say going out west is cool

I have been curious as to why some people go to Gulf Shores or Destin EVERY year. Seems boring to me as I like to explore. But some people just like familiarity. To each his own.

I hate travel destinations that are packed with tourists. Give me the natural wonders of the US and Canada. North America is a giant continent with natural attractions galore. The Caribbean sucks by comparison.

Why do Americans seldom travel outside north America? Specifically to Asia... the world is bigger than going to some trashy “resort” in the Caribbean.

It’s cheaper and takes less time

We don't go to either of those but we go 4-5 times a year to that part of FL

But it's not really "vacation" it's for holidays, a weekend here or there, that kind of thing.

For actual vacations, I like the caribbean but I'm not spending more than a few days down there unless we're island hopping or going somewhere hard to get to. I don't know how people spend 7-10 days at an all inclusive.

Given those two options, I’d much rather stay in the US.

I hate all inclusive resorts, and at a certain point all of the Caribbean islands start to look the same.

I also get bored of just laying around on the beach after a day. I’d rather go somewhere where there’s a lot to explore.

I prefer Caribbean but I don't do all inclusive unless the kids come with us
