That's interesting. Most people didn't know it was an attack until the second plane.
He didn’t announce it as a terrorist attack. Just that a plane had hit the tower. We all just shrugged it off and I remember thinking to myself, “so what?”
It wasn’t until seeing the second tower smoking that it really hit as a possible terrorist attack

You're right. Unfortunately, groups are sometimes judged by their worst members. It's unfair, but it's human nature.

4th grade French class. The school priest came in and told us what happened, but they kept the seriousness of it from us. It was very clear though that something huge was going on, especially when parents started showing up to bring us home (my uncle picked me up by 11, I remember)

Band room at Paul Breaux Middle. Thought it was an impromptu movie day when our band teacher rolled in the old TV cart.

On a shipping dock finishing my morning shift before class in college. Guy rolled in and told us someone just crashed a plane into WTC. We wrapped up and went down to office to finish clerical work and had the TV on when second hit. I went to class as normal.

8th grade PE and then Louisiana History. I remember someone saying that there was an explosion at the World Trade Center, but wasn’t sure of the details. One guy in my class said he had an aunt that worked at the World Trade Center, but I don’t recall if anything ever came of that.

Had just come back from running 6 miles of trails that morning and at my grandmothers house (Where my first wife and I lived at the time)…playing with my first daughter which was 8 months old at the time on the living room floor.
She had just threw her bottle at me as I saw the second plane hit.
Hard to believe that was 24 yeas ago and even harder to believe my first daughter is now 24 years old.
