If you’d like to dress like an adult, Brooks Brothers or a men’s store like Perlis. Dumas and Ben Silver’s in Charleston are similar. BB will be more cost effective, especially if you can sign up for a corporate membership or wait for the Christmas sale.
If you want a skinny bright blue suit like you’re in a boy band, most of the other suggestions in this thread are perfect.

Once I found out pleated pants were a thing of the past, it was too late.

Lots of places to buy a decent suit. Tailoring of the suit is key

Yeap. Just find any sale and instead spend your time looking for a good tailor.

I almost exclusively get them from Dan John in Italy now.

But the more important part is to have a good tailor. I can bring my guy just about anything and as long as it’s not too small he’ll make it perfect. So I buy everything a size big and let him do his magic.

Do not. I repeat, do not set foot at one of their stores.

I got fitted in the New Orleans store last spring pre covid. Great experience, very custom, took a little over an hour. Suit came in about 8 weeks later.

Jacket fit fine. Pants fit like they were made for another person. Comically bad. Legs were so tight they felt like leggings and the torso of the pants was too short. Belt line sat about an inch below the crack of my arse.

Called store, closed for covid. Call 800 number, no luck. Emailed. Finally got a response after posting a shitty review on Facebook. After an online chat where the guy wanted me to take the pants to a tailor on my own dime, finally agreed to send me another pair.

These fit worse than the first. Called again told them they’d screwed up. Again suggested a tailor. Told them I wanted to wait until the store was open. They agreed. Store didn’t reopen. No one would reply to my claim. Emailed, called. Nothing. I wasted $400.

Their Facebook is littered with reviews with similar experiences.

For the more worldly and widely traveling among you, A retired Brit I know here in Virginia told me that up until he retired ten years ago he traveled to Hong Kong quite often, and he would always buy suits there. He said the service and the quality of the material were absolutely on the same level as Savile Row in London at 1/4 the price and they would have you measured in the morning and have your suit ready the next morning. He went on to say though that he suspects things might have changed since the commies from the mainland started throwing their weight around. At any rate, I'd still look into it if I ever traveled to Hong Kong.

I'm a Sally and Goodwill aficionado. Great deals on some high dollar stuff if you get there soon enough after a shipment has been put up.
