In Baton Rouge the premier service and high end, other than custom made, is McLavy's. THey will fix you a drink and let you shop leisurely. All alterations are in house and done in 3-5 days. A little expensive but for OT Ballers it is perfect. Plus they will call you when something comes in that you have told them you like or when there is a sale.

Whatever suit you get, you should make sure that the jacket has at least half canvas construction. Brooks Brothers 1818 or even the Jos Banks Signature Gold line would have this. Another place to check for an even higher quality suit for cheap is Nordstrom Rack, but obviously the selection will be hit or miss.

Nordstrom rack has Ermenegildo Zegna for $1200 and Hickey Freeman for $600, plus other brands as low as a hundred or two. Saks off 5th is not bad either.

You’d be amazed the quality of suits you can buy on Amazon and just go have alterations done by a random Asian woman seamstress at a dry cleaner.

Thank me later.

The only place in Baton Rouge acceptable to a baller of the OT caliber is Martinez Custom and even then, we're kinda slumming it.

It makes me happy to have no idea about this guy.

Does it make you feel better when wearing an expensive suit?

I can’t remember the last time I put on a suit. A wedding I’m guessing? Sure glad I don’t have to wear one every day like when I still lived in Br

Not me saying it. He was named a top 10 in the Robb report and Wall Street journal.

A know a couple times a year he will go to much larger cities, like NY and LA for a week or 2 to do fittings for clients...or at least he did when I used to run in to him and talk with him around Br

Most of my suits still have pleated pants.

I wouldn’t own anything else. That look is classic and timeless. To hell with what’s “in.” I’ll be buried in pleats and cuffs.

I personally still like cuffs but not a fan of pleats. I think a flat front just looks cleaner

I have one suit which was suit separates from Nordstrom Rack. It was $300 and I've worn it to 2 funerals. I'll be perfectly fine if I never have to put it on again.
