Laurie.
Electric Cocktail Laurie, not Hurricane's Laurie.

A bar on bourbon street back after the Saints won the superbowl.
I flew in with a couple of friends for another friends bachelor party. We went to bar on Bourbon that was like a western style bar after leaving Felix's.
The bartender was a chick probably in her early 30's, cute. Anyways, they had Saints budlight glasses as promotions from Bud for the superbowl. For every beer I drank there I somehow talked her into giving me the glass.
Great night on Bourbon although I had to go find a walmart bag to load my treasures to carry back to the Hotel.

Tall lanky guy right?
You're probably thinking of Jack.
Tommy was the old man and not tall.

Yep, Tommy the bookie. I hated leaving an envelope for Tommy. Jack was the man. Great guy but I think he was a vampire. I never saw him in the daylight. Eddie was another Happy Note bartender who worked part time on Saturdays and always cooked for the crew. His chicken and dumplings were legendary. I became good friends with Eddie and his family. He worked full time for the capital police, I believe. What about Lock and Maggie? Anyone know if they’re still around?
If you were even a semi regular at The Note, I probably knew you. My then girlfriend, now wife were there just about every night from 1994 until it closed, then moved over to Old New Orleans.
I know, weird flex.

Anyone/ anywhere that gives me a full glass when I ask for a double.

Then I'm pretty sure I've seen you in there. I used to work the door for Tommy sometimes for $5/hr plus all I could drink. My roommate and I spent a lot of time in there on weeknights just us and Judy.
Yeah, Jack called me when Tommy died and was in tears. I guess he was a big part of his life. Jack had a degree in meteorology IIRC.

No doubt. We were pretty much known to everyone by a combined one word name of RickandJill.
Judy was a cool lady but didn’t take crap from anyone. I didn’t know that about Jack. Very interesting. I always joke that I always gave Jack a Christmas present before any friends or family. Sad but true at that time. Do you know what happened to him? Still around?

Don't know. I moved out of BR in 2000. I think he was still working at the new place when I left. I tried going there a few times, but it wasn't the same.
If you were around LSU in the 90's, then I'm sure you remember that huge guy named Zuke, probably close to 6'10" and had to weigh 400#. Funny story, I was working the door at the Note one night and he walks out with a drink in his hand and asked if he could leave with it. I told him "well, I certainly can't stop you"

I graduated in 89. Not familiar with him but based on the description, yeah let that dude do whatever he wanted.
I followed the crew to Old New Orleans for a few years. It was ok. Many nights we had a cash poker game at the front table in plain sight. I have no idea how we didn’t get robbed/killed.
If you ever watched the TV above the bar there, you’re welcome. I gave it to them. Again yes, weird flex. Just replaying some memories in my head.

With Clint, there is no such thing as a single. And a double means a triple. Knows everybodys drink. Always asks how you doin and has a good bet for you to place

Never knew her name, but the wife and I called her "blue haired lady" and she worked at the old NOLA taproom and then Wayward Owl. Was super friendly and easy to talk to.

It was Mrs. Phyllis from Creole Lanes but sadly she has passed on, Her Obit. 1 Long Island Ice Tea and you would be done for when she made them.
