There used to be one in Anniston, AL. The lil cajun cookery. The only place I've ever eaten gator. Just about everything on the menu was "blackened".

One of the best shrimp poboys I ever had was at a place called Tommy Jacks in Laramie, Wyoming. It was owned by a guy from Lafayette I believe.

Well they're by nature Cajun dishes so yes they do.

The bigger issue would be labeling things Cajun that aren't Cajun. Like Cajun fries which are just fries with Tony's sprinkled on top. Taking things that aren't inherently Cajun, dumping Cajun seasoning on them, and calling them Cajun doesn't make them authentic or real.

Wife and kids are in Chicago visiting family and went to a food festival. There was a “Cajun food” booth...they skipped over that one.

I was recently at a festival in Wake Forest,NC where a couple of guys were giving out samples from their new restaurant "The Lost Cajun". I asked him what part of Louisiana he was from. He said New Jersey. I just walked away.

One time in the Minneapolis airport, there was a “cajun restaurant”. Asian folks ran it.

They used pan fried rice for their jambalaya and when i said that’s not correct or how jambalaya is made, they told me i was wrong.

I showed them my drivers license and said, I’m not sure if you understand this but I’m from where jambalaya comes from and you don’t use pan fried
Rice and then they still told me i was wrong.

I chuckled
