Where is a good place in Louisiana to retire?

I intend to get out of New Orleans. I want to be close enough to Tiger Stadium and family around Baton Rouge, but I never want to evacuate for a hurricane ever again. I also don't want to be shot by some would-be rapper.

Thought about St. Francisville. It's alright but kinda pricey.

Suggestions?

No, I'm not living in the LP or Covington/Mandeville.

This is the only place I would consider in the state that fits your needs of not needing to evacuate.
Not enough good restaurants and bars for me though.

I was going to say St. Francisville. I have relatives who recently moved out there and it's nice.. But as for as the OP, what are you looking for? Small town? Rural area? Anything specific?

There is nothing there, it's a dump.

Then you might as well leave La and enjoy western N.C.

Pelican Point in Ascension Parish. It’s a country club with a lot of retired people living in there and it’s a gated community with a golf club. 30 minutes from Baton Rouge

Well you are a high powered big cocked attorney, so I would hope you could go better than retiring in this state.

Meh. He doesn't really want to do that. Hell, he sent at least one kid to Alabama, so I don't trust him.
