Where in the hell did all these mosquitos come from?

This summer, due to the lack of rain, it was one of the best summers I’ve ever experienced in south Louisiana in regards to mosquitos. Early morning fishing they barely existed. Holy hell they are out with a vengeance in unreal numbers right now around my house in Mandeville. Why? It hasn’t been raining.
Is anyone else experiencing a mosquito boom?

The mama mosquito and the daddy mosquito had relations and made babies. Then the babies grew up an had their own relations.
That’s pretty much how it works

I noticed the same thing in central, ms. I figure they must have blown in on a south wind from the gulf/marsh.

Assuming it's motherfricking tiger mosquitos, it's because they are damned near indestructible. They can survive in temps below freezing and can breed in running water. Miserable little fricks: LINK

Mosquito Sniper system
this placed on your leaf blower, used in conjunction with your backpack sprayer and some BIFEN XTS will take care of your mosquito problems.
I spray our yard once a month and we never have them.

I got swarmed by probably 50 right at sundown in Ponchatoula. Have never experienced anything like that.

The damn gnats are bad here. Not turkey season bad, but annoying as hell.

Per mosquito control, they're bad as a result of the drought we are in. They're looking for water to lay eggs and such.

Yes, they burn and itch worse than I ever remember even when you don't scratch them.

I got a chance to wash my car yesterday for the first time in 2 months. Drove to New Orleans and hit rain for the first time in forever. Drove home at dusk and hit no less than 800k mosquitoes on the way home. The front of my car is now disgusting

I think maybe because normal abatement measures stopped for the season yet it’s still warm enough for them.
