Per mosquito control, they're bad as a result of the drought we are in. They're looking for water to lay eggs and such.

Hang on now. You're telling me that when there is a lot of water there is a lot of mosquitos, but also when there's not a lot of water there's a lot of mosquitos?

They lifted me up out of the deer stand yesterday and dropped me on the ground. It's bad.

We normally have mosquitos linger into November due to warm temperatures. However, during the drought, they have limited access to ponded water. Mosquitos eggs can't survive in flowing water. So, while we would still have mosquitos, we have more as a result of the drought. The largest number of mosquitos are found around swamps or ponded water. When that is not available, they start moving elsewhere.

They’re bad in the NOLA area too. I thought maybe it was just me and I had bad luck.

Glad I’m not going crazy

We once had a few days of temps in the single digits. When that ended, temp shot up to the 70s. Skeeters were out that same day.

I take it you never saw X Files Fight the Future.

The technology was refined to use mosquitos instead of honey bees.

I had to vacuum my ceiling this week. Opening the door for a few seconds to let the dogs out led to about 50 of them flying in.

they’ve been horrible in Hammond for a few weeks now. The ones here are the small ones (not tiger mosquitoes) that are much more annoying than the big ones.

my house is full of them every night from opening doors

Ahhhh, sounds another goodie for the “human-made climate change” folks to nibble on.
