where can I find cheap ski helmets?

I’ve never worn a helmet while skiing both in Aspen and Breckenridge, CO. It’s not needed unless you’re the type that needs a helmet for everyday life

Just got back from skiing Crested Butte. First time in a while. Almost everyone had a damn helmet. I was surprised.

You can find a decent one for under $100 on all the ski sites

Buy a new one. Smith is a solid brand.
Keep in mind, once they’ve taken an large impact they are essentially useless. Main reason to not rent or buy used.

If you want cheap that's on you but I suggest a Smith or Giro MIPS helmet.
I do find it funny for me to suggest a quality helmet though, I skied for over 20 years before they were even a thing for anyone not involved in racing.

I went skiing last year for the first time in 5 years. 5 years prior, maybe 1 in 10 people wore helmets. Last year, I would say 95% of people I saw were wearing helmets. I looked very out of place without one.
You are right that it is not "needed" but it is standard practice at this point.. and it can only help you.
