Why would you need a helmet. The closest I came to a head injury while skiikng was when I wrapped the rope around my arm to get even with my brother so I could spray him and almost got decapitated when I fell and the rope unwound. Helmet ain't gonna help that, baw.

If you're on ice instead of powder, a fall at a decent speed can give you a righteous concussion. Even with powder or inbetween, it's just common sense to protect your noggin. You don't want to end up retarded just because you are stubborn.

Sonny Bono, and JFK's nephew probably said the same thing, serious head injuries from skiing are very common. My wife once worked in a ER in Colorado and hated when skiing season started.

I always thought it was interesting that Eastern skiers took longer to adopt helmets in significant numbers when most of the time the Easter resorts are covered with concrete masquerading as snow.

Ski helmets and bicycle helments are for sissies. Would never wear either.

Bought mine on amazon last year. Lots of options. Bought goggles on there too... ski pants, etc.

Those two were dicking around on the slopes. If they would have just skied under control control and responsibly nothing would have happened. If you want to act like an idiot on the slopes, wear a helmet, by all means. I haven't fallen on the slopes since the first year I went skiing.

I've skied Winter Park, Aspen, Beaver Creek, Breck, Copper, Crested Butte - all numerous times - blues and blacks, occasional dd. Done NASTAR many times - top 2% times. The last time I went (a month back) I caught plenty of edges, I just know how to ski well enough that I don't fall.

As someone who grew up skiing and then put a lot of days up on the mountain in college and after as a ski patroller....you are lying

This year was first time I have not seen someone without a helmet. Not only is it safe, it also keep your head warm.
