When's the last time you wrote a check?

I think it's been well over a decade for me. Curious what they're used for these days.
Terrible memories of ending up behind a woman at the food store paying with a check who didn't think to start filling it out until after it was all scanned and totaled.

I rarely do, but it's usually to my parents. They're very old-school.

I use them all the time at work. For personal finance, I use a few mom and pop places that do not have websites for you to pay

I used to have to write one for school fees occasionally, but even that's been 4-5 years now. I don't think I have any checks.

I write maybe a couple a month. Sometimes if it's a new bill from someone I will never have to pay again and I don't want to set them up on on-line bill pay, I just mail a check.
And I still encounter some small service related people that don't accept on-line payments, etc.

Still occasionally for random stuff. Paying a handyman (plumber, hvac, etc), sometimes use a check instead of venmo to pay my lawn guy if I catch him at the house.

Rare, but did one for a tax return amendment and one to the local volunteer fire department because I didn't have cash when they came by collecting. Wish they would hurry up and clear.
