No, I'm saying that when the government is taking care of your basic needs, you can afford shite like that. When you're paying your own rent, buying your own food, you're less likely to 'waste' money.

And? Both items are dumb. Sorry, but our cultures idea that our stupid stuff is better than another cultures stupid stuff is so exhausting and so old. So insecure as well.

Well they aren’t sold out online. They could’ve easily got them without going to the store.

I get that people waste money on stupid stuff all the time. What really makes me shake my head are the people that buy Jordans for their baby, toddler, or even little boy KNOWING that they are going to grow out of them long before they'll fall apart.

That's just dumb to me.

Oh, and I thought Nikes were made in Korea. No? Or are we just lumping in all of Asia as Chinese? I don't really care either, just asking.

Some of yall are missing the point.

Buy all the Jordans you want. But stop complaining about being broke and living off the government when you are buying a want, not a need.

Feed your fricking children, don't spend it on Jordans.

Do you have any basis for believing the people in that line are on government assistance?

What the frick are you talking about? If you are a jogger you cannot get the cheapest shoe and New Balance low end shoes are hardly extravangant.

Oh my God, they are $80!!!!!!!!!!!

Spend a few extra bucks and get the Made In The USA line. Those are usually a little over $100, but you're supporting American baws instead of Asshoe China.

Home Depot has been packed here for the last month. Parking lot looks like the mall on the weekend before Christmas.

Oh, this is about attacking black people? I'm sorry, racist on.

Pretty sure the posts referring to housing subsidies and food assistance weren’t engaging in commentary about the stimulus checks.

Well they did say opening Georgia up was an attack on African Americans. You know, because they don't have the same access to food and healthcare and that the virus kills more black people.

Principle depravation.

There’s a very good reason people never seem to escape their conditions as individuals, or as communities, and all of it has to do with decision making, but if you try and explain why this is to them, they’re just going to get mad and want to fight. Same people will bitch and complain though that there are no good jobs for them, and will bemoan their economic condition, but never does it seem to occur to them that they have a hand in making all of it so by how they spend their money, and who they support. This goes for not buying American, and also by not buying local. The poor get poorer and don’t seem to understand why it is the way it is, but they are far from being alone in this. Our own government, both on the federal level and the states pave the way for this to happen in supporting companies that take the wealth from communities all over the country, leaving them with a little jingle to fund their infrastructures while taking the major cash back to fund their own local infrastructures, and so the rich get richer and the poor remain in their condition, and ever so shall it be unless and until these people plug in and wake the hell up.

You responded to me though.

And you are right, maybe these people aren't struggling and have been working on their normal salary this entire time.

My point is people complain and buy shite they don't need. No different than buying a $50k truck when a less expensive one gets the same job done.

Probably many resellers in that line looking to buy and flip quickly for a couple hundred. My son has made some good extra cash by doing that.
