With all due respect, this is hyperbole. The vast majority of Chicagoans are more progressive on issues of race than, say, the denizens of rural Mississippi. Moreover, the fact that you try to generalize based on the isolated statements of a few primitives from BridgePort and Back of the Yards demonstrates your lack of familiarity with the city's ethnography, history, and demographics. It's the equivalent of trying to extrapolate Louisiana's racial atmosphere from the derelict vestiges of the Klan that persist in certain backwaters. Not representative.

More globally, this entire thread is rife with nonsense stereotypes. I've lived in the North. I've lived in the South. Excellence and ignorance are not the exclusive province of either. Good and bad folks everywhere.
