There’s too many 24/7 facilities in the United States to go back now. Rail yards, Ports, Trucking Companies , Distribution Centers , Hospitals ,etc. all open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
You can’t see how those are in a different category than an office job or something like that?

I already don't do jack shite on Fridays yet still get paid. A three day weekend every weekend would still be cool though.

as a society we need to careful re: too much WFH, 4 day work weeks, unlimited PTO, maternity/paternity leave, AI, etc.
i don't see it as a valid excuse at this moment but if the laptop class gets too much of this, how could you blame the less intelligent/fortunate for not wanting to work and participate in this society?

I don’t think these types of expressions are meant to have something that sounds awesome be the task to achieve the 4 day work week.

I’d eat that booty for a 6 day work week

With all of the husbands and wives both working, kids will have to be in school, after school care, and daycare for 12 hours a day.
When the businesses that need to be open on Fridays (restaurants, groceries, stores, etc) need help from another business (bank, handyman, IT company, etc), do they now have to pay overtime to those companies for Friday? Not everyone can work 4 days and every business needs other businesses in some form of the other.
Some of y’all have great ideas but never think about how it affects everyone.

If you're providing value to your company/employer that they deem acceptable for the compensation, what difference does it make?
It's completely different than individuals who simply refuse to work at all.

For many people that would just mean pretending to work 10 hours instead of 8

Find a job where the company gives you flex time options.
Also, as long as we're wishing...I want to be give 7 days to put in my 40 hours? What's wrong with that? If I can work from home (and have sex and shop), why does every thing need to be done between Monday and Friday?

I wouldn’t. Only thing I’d feel guilty about is how much I pay for it and still suck arse.

I’m in sales so I work 3.5 to 4 days already.

You’re putting in the same amount of time.

i'm just saying we can't expect to maintain order when millions of people are working from home 4 days a week and going on nice vacations all the time (most of this board would fall into this class) as a massive underclass is rapidly increasing in population and still being asked/forced to cut grass and frame houses 6 days a week. and when they get to go home, their women smell like the onion rings they've been frying all day at burger king. oh and their kid just got stabbed again at public school.
demographics are changing. there was just a massive transfer of wealth away from "the people". schools are failing. buying a house has never been more costly. i think it would be foolish to ignore the possibility of a bloody revolution happening in the next 50 or so years.
