Not core to your point but I think important to note that I don’t think any died. 11 were shot and a few of those are critical

It’s been declining and a few times in the last decade it looked like it was near its end.

The actual game will likely have to improve in quality for it to survive long term... but I’m no expert and was surprised it’s been renewed recently

USNWR ranked Southern Law School as the worst law school in the nation. Like, worst than Cooley and Cooley has a nationwide rep of being awful af.

Because when the tourists deciding where they travel read this story it will not matter.

I can remember when the game was a pretty big deal and got a national TV broadcast. Now, it seems like you never hear of it anymore except when something like this happens. Sadly, I think it is time to pull the plug.

Not dramatically no. But the number of them that’ll read it will be far less.

Not that tourism numbers were my point.

How does the Dome lose money? Is game attendance that low?

It’s not filled up like it was years ago. Like it or not, the financial side of this game is an overall drain on the city. Extra police on overtime and still serious trouble every year.

Also, talk to restaurant owners and workers about the crap they have to deal with from these fans. Not surprised some close and give their staffs off for the holidays.

The dome is virtually rent free for the organizers. When Houston tried to poach the game in 2002, it cause us to make a deal which subsidized the event.

Hotels cannot up the price as they normally would for a busy weekend because they get accused of racism. It is somehow racist to jack up prices for a special event. So they have to have extra staff and security which is a drain.

I assume you mean the Nanny state leading to fatherless homes. Yes, let's fix that.

Wonder why Morris Bart is one of the Bayou Classics biggest sponsor.

Funny because it used to be State Farm

I would be embarrassed to say I went to one of the worst academic schools in the nation. At Grambling, among those ACCEPTED, the 25th percentile ACT score is 16, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 20. The average high school GPA is a 2.81. At Southern, among accepted students, the 25th percentile ACT score is 17, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 21. Twice in the last decade, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges placed Southern University on a warning list citing missed benchmarks related to faculty, student achievement, "institutional effectiveness" and student complaints.

Why are you so racist?
I can’t even!

I don’t see any Fab posts about this from “certain people”. Strange.
They must be hungover from the festivities and still be in bed.
