They probably aren’t tbh. Whatever grade your kid has up to this point will be their highest level of education and they’ll need to make sure they know how to do manual labor

I’m failing to see where that article says that most are cancelled for the year

Here smart arse. You can follow each parish here.

can you show us what part of that link led you to believe most schools are done for the year, b/c i didn't see anything that would lead me to believe that?

You mean they aren’t going back until 2021? No way that’s remotely accurate, because if it was this country wouldn’t be able to afford schools. We’d be flat broke, or worse.

When you see parishes that have general info like this...

quote:

Lafayette Parish has said teachers and staff are being asked to be flexible with their schedules as this situation develops.

more than likely they will not go back this year.

A lot of schools are showing that they will return at the end of April. That's what? 2 or 3 weeks before the school year is over?

The parish I am in.. Iberville.. has announced it is closing for the remainder of the school year and that there will be no graduation ceremony or prom. West Baton Rouge has done the same thing.

I’m just pissed I keep having to pay tuition when the public school kids are likely going to get a pass.

You can't complain if you decided to send your kids to private school.

nobody has announced this yet
Governor of Virginia just announced all schools are closed for the rest of the academic year. NC governor just announced schools there closed through at least May 15.

I'm not pissed because I know the teachers still need to be getting paid and other school bills need to be paid.

I'm clawing a little money back though by bringing my kids to a public school almost every day to pick up a lunch and a breakfast.

I know of one state, Kansas, that has already cancelled the rest of the school year.

But baring an unexpected miracle, I don't see how schools re-open this school year. I can see it being mid-May before we get the all-clear and they aren't going to re-open for a week.

At some point in May everything will be fine and they can have a senior prom and graduation.
