Yeah after my last surgery the physical therapist had me lay on my back hold my arm out straight. She then had another therapist try and move my arm while I kept it straight. Did both arms for about 8 minutes each. As I was holding it she was digging into my shoulder.

After she said that the doctor wanted to know how I was able to function and it was because my stabilizer muscles were over developed so I never really lost strength. I'm not looking forward to the replacement surgeries and am trying to go as long as possible before I have to.

Bad horses, work, and whiskey have left me tired and sore.

I'm 39 and was just thinking back that it's probably been 5 years or more since at least one thing didn't hurt on my body. I'm not talking debilitating pain, but just some sort of soreness. If it's less than two things I know it's going to be a good day.

lol!
You sound like a fricking pussy. We the same age and can not relate. Man up soyboy

Snatched him out of his chair and damned near into my lap He busted out laughing and said he asked me to do it because with the damage I shouldn't even be able to lift my arm. shite happens doc. Move more, eat well, hydrate, get good sleep, sunlight.

Pain is not inevitable for most people.

Same here, roughly the same age as you and OP. If you're having chronic pain of any kind at 39, you have a lifestyle problem.

The closest I come to having "constant pain" is when my sinuses are all jacked up and it gives me a jaw headache for a couple days. But generally I can do excessive physical labor and still only be sore for the proceeding day at most

Pain? None.

Soreness? Constantly. I play hockey twice a week and lift 3-5 times a week, and every day try to walk at least 12k steps. I’ll randomly get some mild tendinitis if I ramp training up, but considering I played rugby for 17 years and stay as active as I do, I can’t complain

ETA: 35 this week

Im 44 and something always hurts a little bit. You get used to it. The first few steps out of bed in the morning are the worst, but once Im moving im usually good to go.

Not necessarily in a lot of pain, just move slower these days.

I really wanted to go into pro wrestling when I was 16, my dream was to end up in ECW. So..things could've taken a turn..

I'm 47 and not currently in any pain. Worked in the yard today in 95 degree heat. No big problems other than it sucking

Exactly! Yard work in 95° weather just sucks for everyone! I decided to not cut the backyard today. I'll try tomorrow evening.....when it's around 90.

I’ll be 53 tomorrow; I’m in no pain right now sitting in my recliner. The problem is every time I get up.

I'm 66 and had both knees replaced earlier this year-life changing. Before the knee replacement my knee pain was really effecting my quality of life. I'm so glad I decided to have the surgeries.

Everyone I've known with a knee replacement wishes they'd gotten it sooner.

Around 2005 (26) or so from the knees down. It's really sucked the past few weeks. Doubt I've slept more than three hours straight in that time.

That's a ridiculously broad statement that doesn't account for sports/military/workplace injuries, car accidents, genetic/hereditary conditions, complications from autoimmune disorders, and botched medical procedures, just for starters.

Congrats on the charmed life though.

Stereotypes exist for a reason. They're not 100%, but directionally accurate in most cases.
