Lake house our friends always invite us to has a huge DVD tower and a DVD player. We always watch movies from the 90s/00s on DVD when we go.

I had access to 750+ DVDs when my aunt moved out of her house in Metairie.
I donated them to Friends of LSU library.
I didn't bother watching any of them.

Watched on a Blu Ray player or XBox? Maybe eight years. But, watch on Plex in 2160 after I've ripped it from a Blu-Ray? I'm ripping "The Mobile Riverine Force" documentary as we speak to watch tonight.

Disc-viewing (dvd, blu) constitutes about 95% of all of what I watch on television. The remaining 5% is probably a bit of news and weather. I don't watch cable, networks, or subscribe to any streaming services. Just discs, of which I amassed a large collection over the past twenty-five years.

Well yeah. Uncompressed 4k requires real bandwidth that most ISPs can't get close to meeting in a widely distributed environment, even at fiber speeds.

I still have Monty Python Laserdisc so I can watch Holy Grail with Japanese overdubbed voices and Nordic subtitles
As for VHS / CD's / DVD's, probably this past weekend?
Have players for all and have BOTH the USA and non USA players.
As they are all hard copies, no deleting them from a "cloud" I do not have without my knowledge or permission.
Sometimes the older technology has benefits to the individual owners over the modern corporations.
They can get my media when they pry it from my cold, dead, hands!

Not dvd, but I watch bluray and 4k discs every week.
Superior to streaming especially since they want you to pay extra for 4k or some don't have 4k at all. And the sound is better. Try to stream some shite and everyone is whispering.
