Haven't had a VHS or DVD player in 20+ years. My wife has kept about 50 VHS tapes of movies she bought or recorded and they are somewhere in a box stored in a closet downstairs--------I think.

We have a dvd player and all we need to do is just unplug the fire stick and plug it in. The other day I really wanted to watch the 1986 classic “Crocodile Dundee” with my young son so I paid the $3.99 to rent it off prime. Then I realized I have the dvd. I’m not worried about the $4, but lately I’ve really wanted to re- watch the 2009 classic “Inglorious Basterds”, which I haven’t seen in over a decade, and I’m tired of waiting for it to come on one of the streaming services I subscribe to. So one of these last August weekends before real football starts I might expend the energy of unplugging the fire stick and plugging in the dvd player to watch my amazing dvd copy of Inglorious Basterds…..

I recently was testing a tv because I thought it might have a power supply problem. I hooked it up to a Blu ray player and damn is that a great picture or what!

Well, let me put it this way. I've transferred 12 vhs tapes to dvds in the last 2 weeks and have plenty more to go

When we lost power last winter. Internet was down so we pulled out the old DVD player.

I just started burning blu-ray movies and making legit cases for them(photo paper, blank blu-ray case). The quality of DVD vs Blu-ray is night and day.
