In Lafayette, about half my drivers have been white but I've probably only ridden 5 or 6 times in the last 4 years. All of my drivers in Houston, Dallas, or New Orleans were immigrants who barely said a word the whole drive.

Been a while in the states. In europe every time.
Had a cool old Italian guy one time in orlando. Had moved from jersey. But the last few dozen rides have been Indians or black guys in Nissans.

Waymo’s drivers don’t have a color. They are invisible.

Pretty spot on.
White dude last month found out I was leaving for Scotland and he wouldn’t shut up.
Black dude picked me up with a broke AC.

My last Northshore Über attempt-
Über Black Car ordered
Black driver shows up in a Altima, one headlight bashed out, passenger’s side front wheel was donut spare.
I stuck my head in the passenger’s side door and told him I was passing on riding on I-12 at night in that vehicle.
He left without a response.

I love getting in an Uber and the driver not speaking English. Means I don't have to talk about some bullshite i don't care about.
I've gotten a few that the app warns me ahead of time are deaf. Brilliant! I bet more than half of them weren't.
We had a varied mix of drivers in Houston a few weeks ago, but we use the Lyft Black tier when on vacation in big cities since BR doesn't have it/can't support it. So, most of these folks told us they were private drivers with mostly O&G clients and just grab random Uber/Lyft rides when they have downtime.

I normally only use Uber to get to MSY from Metairie and back. I’ve noticed that over the past two years, driver demo has heavily shifted from mainly black male drivers to Arab male drivers.

I cannot stand when the drivers try and small talk the whole ride.
A couple of years ago I had a driver in Boston that has two printed and laminated signs that hung on the front seatbacks and said something to the effect of:
I respect your right to have a quiet ride. If you want to have a conversation, just engage me; otherwise, I will only ask you for pertinent details like where you want to be dropped off at your location. If you have a question and just want me to answer it and return to "silent mode" just preface it with "I have a question for you...". Thanks for riding with Rodney.
