I want to hit these people with my car. Why the hell are you jogging in the middle of the road when there’s a perfectly good sidewalk right next to you?

I’ve been told that asphalt is “softer” than concrete so it’s easier on the joints. Well if there’s trucks driving on asphalt all day it isn’t that damn soft is it?

Long distance runners avoid concrete like the plague. Why so mad?

I don’t understand the question. Do you want 10 points or not?

It’s a lot easier to trip and fall on a sidewalk.

You’re probably mad because you’re too fat and lazy to exercise.

Road for cars, sidewalk for walkers. That’s why it’s there.

And that would be vehicular homicide and I'd hope you'd spend a lifetime in jail

SideWALKs are usually uneven and can be trip hazards…..Runners and walkers have just as much of a right to be on the road as you.

The hell they do. Get your arse on the sidewalk, a walking trail, or a damn treadmill. Off the road. Roads are for vehicular traffic, not pedestrian traffic. Sidewalks are for pedestrian traffic, not vehicular traffic.

Darwin Award, running/biking on a road built for multi-ton automobiles doing high speeds.

First off, unless it's a race I've not seen joggers or walkers in the middle of the road. Always as close to the curb as possible.

A legitimate answer is that many times the road is in better shape than the sidewalk. Many sidewalks are uneven and offer more tripping hazards than the road. There's also a better chance of being seen on the road than on the sidewalk when crossing streets.

My OT answer- we do it just to piss of people like you.

I run 20-30 miles per week. Louisiana is a fat arse state that typically has no bike lanes or decent sidewalks. With that said, I try to run during non peak times.

Sorry I slowed you down on your way to get a 44oz Big Gulp just so you can litter it out the window when finished. Keep doing you, Louisiana.

Mean.

I go to the gym a lot, it’s not that. It’s the fact that I’ll come around a corner in my neighborhood and there’s a jogger in the middle of the fricking road and I have to slam on my brakes.

I'm with the OP on this.

Hate them far more than bicyclists. Which is saying something.

The streets I commonly see them on have well maintained sidewalks so that is no excuse.
