I think you see restaurants and bars get shut down again but schools will stay open. Any school closures will come from the individual districts.

Since the current spike is attributed to small gatherings at people's private residences, this makes no sense.

The language I am hearing sounds similar to March. It is inevitable.

In late July, phase 2 had been in place for almost a month, there were 1600 covid+ people in hospitals.

There are half that number right now. We're not going back to March lockdowns.

We are currently only 100+ in hospitals to when we moved to Phase 3, but people think we are going back to March lockdowns?

I don't get it.

They have no statistics that can point to anything causing the spike. What has caused the spike is an increase in testing because it is cold season. Who knows if the testing is even accurate. I know several people now that took tow tests on the same day and got different results - swab was different than the blood. 99.47 recovery rate.

If it makes people feel safe it's worth doing. Individual rights are not more important than safety.

Why do you people not want people to be safe?

I totally agree with you, I was just saying what I think will happen.

I love how Kanter says antigen tests can be less accurate as the state now includes antigen positive tests in Louisiana's numbers regarding positives.

Depends how many test they can flip like they did with the voting systems. Why do you think testing is so "important"

There have been discussions that some of the schools are going to go virtual, or modified Phase 1, between Thanksgiving and when the students would normally return in Jan. The reasoning they are giving is because of the complexity of contact tracing as there will be large gatherings for Thanksgiving & Christmas (regardless of what the government says). While I think it's dumb, that actually seams practical, and makes me think it will extent until after MLK day (which would be just over 2 weeks from NYE).

This way, if any of the students have direct contact with someone from COVID, they will already be somewhat quarantined (schools discussing going back to the 8:1 or 12:1 classes during this time) and limit the number of people that student would have direct contact with.

I want to say that it has to do with contact tracing and if they can’t get in touch with you they “assume” you’re positive. Think I read that at some point.

Like I read it — maybe the LDH page or something like that. I do remember seeing a “definition”.

Restaurants are still open in Phase 2, right? It's just limited capacity?

They will all just ignore the capacity rules, if so. Just like they did before.
