well now you are changing your definition again

Sorry you can't understand. I don't know how to make it simpler for you.

I'm not the one being a contrarian here. I'm going by the widely accepted terminology we have had since this thing began.

this was your original definition

quote:

Any restriction to free trade/movement of our people is antithetical to our constitution. This is what i call a "lockdown".

you then changed that to just include COVID restrictions when I pointed out that your definition of "lockdown" would mean we have been on "lockdown" for over a century

Who is "We"? You have a mouse in your pocket?

:sigh:

if you are going to be this disingenuous about literally everything, have a nice day

I’ll include myself in the “we”. Most people consider a lockdown to be when all “nonessential” businesses are shutdown and people are supposed to remain in their homes like in April

I appreciate your attempts to derail. The point remains we are locked down. Have been since Edwards executive decree. Until our businesses are allowed to operate at normal capacity, and our personal freedoms are restored, WE ARE LOCKED DOWN. I've explained it ad nauseum.

Now if you want to continue to argue semantics, then i'm sure oldmanbeasley is more than willing to fellate you. But if you want to discuss "what proof" we have that Edwards will continue the lockdown, or whatever word you want to call it so your feelings are spared, then i give you every proclamation extending his emergency powers "2/3/4 more weeks" since "flatten the curve".

Never. Nobody’s locking down for $222 a week unemployment.

I didn't derail shite

Every single person in this thread understood what the OP meant except you

LOL

No. This is you trying to move the goalposts to fit your own definitions.

I asked what proof we have that Edwards will impose the same restrictions we had during the March/April "lockdown", which is what the OP and every not you in this thread was discussing.

You then derailed the thread with your semantics about the definition of "lockdown", which you have already changed once in this thread.

Lock down must be coming soon, based on the rate my kids school is sending kids home to quarantine over possible exposure. We’re on day 18 of a 24 day quarantine. We’re actually positive but all my kid’s friends have been sent back home after just getting back to school on Monday, to do another 14 day quarantine because some kid in their class tested positive.

Blah blah blah. Again, if you want a reach around, Oldmanbeasley is your guy. If you want to discuss the proof of Edwards continued LOCKDOWN orders, then i'm willing to discuss. As i've stated before, a lockdown doesn't mean a shutdown. You know that.

I was simply trying to explain that your definition of lockdown is different than most people’s, thus causing confusion

Where are they going to get unemployment money to pay people to stay home since the unemployment fund has been empty since September?

There’s no federal unemployment so I wanna know what idiot is gonna sit home bc JBE said so for $222 a week taxed unemployment.

I've literally never argued that he won't continue or even move backwards to Phase 2 or whatever, so not sure what you are expecting here.

I know! 14 days for my daughter being positive after a halloween party - then husband tested positive on Monday when we were all set to return. So we got another 14.

This governor is truly is an a-hole who doesn’t give two shites about anyone. I guess he doesn’t care about a political future in Louisiana anymore.
