Is it just even posting a thread like this? My current job isnt awful but I'm basically as high as I can go and there aren't opportunities to move up.

Always be looking. Don't quit your job until you have another one.

The sooner you start realizing work sucks, the better off you’ll be. There’s a reason why they have to pay you to be there.

You answered your question. An ambitious person doesn’t settle.

You should never stop looking unless you find your dream job in a place where you love to be.

1. No new challenges
2. Boredom
3. Dread
4. When you have maxed out at your potential
5. When you have reached the ceiling. Unless you are getting paid $$$, if you've reached the ceiling and aren't content with the pay, time to move on.

This. I start looking when I realize there's no growth remaining. Your employer won't tell you this. You have to look around and recognize it.

For me it was when I woke up every weekday and dreaded going into the office. I mean, you're always going to have those days from time to time, but it was a daily occurrence. My boss was completely incompetent and I'm pretty sure bi-polar as well.

Got out of there a little over a month ago and couldn't be happier about it.

It sounds like you're burnt out. Time to start looking. Update your LinkedIn profile and set it to "Open to new opportunities." You may have recruiters reaching out to you. Thats how I got my new job. I start on the 20th.

Yep, my old company stopped investing in me for new certifications, classes, etc. My supervisor wouldn’t say it, but he was worried about his job security.

This must be public right? I have connections with my current job on there and if they see that I'm sure it'll cause more drama than it's worth
