The rule of law is what distinguishes us from the Congo, Amazon tribes, and the cannibals in Papua New Guinea. It makes sense that some people are experts in the law and are professionally capable of handling legal affairs.

The fact that some people abuse their privilege to practice law does not negate the good that it produces, nor the necessity of it. Just because some doctors knowingly commit malpractice, does not mean that all physicians are “scum.”

So, the answer to too many frivolous suits is more frivolous suits?

What is your answer?

I was going with lawsuit vs criminally charge. And enough frivolous lawsuits against Judges and maybe they start acting differently.

So please share.

It amazes me how people with this view are usually the first to come crying to an attorney when they are injured or wronged.

It's an unfair blanket characterization. I think Steven Wright said it best when he said "99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name"

What was that Schwarzennager line: we killed all the attorneys first. (Or something to that effect.)

Agree with what you’ve said. I also think clear negligence of a judge or DA should be cause for loss of bench/ license. Clearly releasing trash only to have said trash kill again … they should be held accountable.

The only people to hold them accountable are ... other lawyers (members of the bar, etc.) Never happen.

Well in jurisdictions where judges are elected, the voting population does this

Same with district attorneys

The problem you were referencing with people getting out of jail for murdering someone, and then murdering someone else was caused by Alabama law which indicated that everybody has a right to reasonable bail.

Hell, we had a gang banger that was under indictment for multiple murders get out go to Mississippi and kill a casino patron in the garage of one of the casinos while basically out on Bond. And then the coed at Auburn, who was raped and murdered by somebody that was out on Bond from murder or something. Judges and district attorneys don’t matter when you have a law that says you have to let murder suspects bond out for 50 K.

I couldn’t believe it either, and I am a lawyer. Alabama had a referendum, I think last year I believe and fixed this stupid law. So now they get multi million dollar bonds.

If a DA wrongly sends someone to jail AND it is shown that evidence was intentionally withheld or there was other misconduct, disbarment should be on the table.

Disbarment is on the table in that situation.

District Attorneys have what is referred to as "absolute immunity" from civil suits for anything having to do with prosecution, and have also successfully used that as a defense to disciplinary complaints. The latest occasion when a DA had any type of discipline imposed in Louisiana was twenty years ago. Something that badly needs to change.

The DA in Georgia who interfered with the investigation of the killing of the black jogger a few years ago was criminally indicted and recent went to trial, though I haven't heard anything about a result. Criminal charge was due to her interfering in investigation, which is not part of her prosecutorial duties.

Is this an argument that your answer must be correct because I don't have one?

At least you admit that they would be frivolous. Maybe you don't understand the implications of that admission.

What about Fani Willis, Letitia James, and Alvin Bragg. That's the meat of your starting five who should be permanently disbarred.
