My son is three. All of the information from the pediatric professionals indicate that he is too young to be spanked. But all of those people are also a bunch of liberal pussies.

What age did you start spanking your kid?

Never, but I’m going to start spanking UGA Alum tomorrow.

He needs to be spanked as punishment for his bad Tigerdroppings threads.

Spanked early and rarely, used better punishments as they got older.

Here is your attention.

Clearly you weren't spanked as a kid based on your behavior on this forum.

Beat that arse when you need to and don't worry about what doctors say.

You’re right, my posts on tiger droppings are a clear indication that I was not raised correctly. Everything you said is logically sound. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

I rarely spanked my son because he didn't really need a beating. He got very few from me but his step-daddy caused him to talk his mom into letting him come to me.

I did not spank my own step-children.

Never spanked mine. I think they were around 2-3 when we had to "swat" their butts. They were diapered, and it was more a pop of disappointment. Each kid got fewer than five pops throughout their entire childhoods, just the threat of "pow pow" corrected their behavior.

2. They listen very well and respect boundaries. They wont go in the kitchen, they dont go out the back door, and they dont open our bedroom door when its closed. They're extremely happy, non traumatized little 3 year old twins. I rarely have to spank my older ones now that they've gotten the message too. Im consistent, I mix in plenty of talks, and I use other punishments when I can. Spanks are usually set aside for bad decisions, not mistakes like forgetting to switch the clothes or something. I spank for lying, stealing, etc. Choosing to do a bad thing. Stop worrying about what stupid studies say and just be wise about your decisions, way you talk, and in control of your emotions.

Edit: to be clear, i meant around 2.5 years and they'd get a swat or two on the thigh, not an arse whoopin.

Stop with the stupid topics...

Sit back and enjoy the writing of others. You aren't that interesting.

Wife wasn't raised with spanking so we essentially don't spank our kids. Our 7 year old responded really well to timeout and I felt weird about spanking a girl anyway so it was never used on her.

We have used it at times for our almost 3 year old son as he is way more mischievous. We have backed off though and like his sister hates and fears timeout, so we are trying that. I'll still swat his hands at times if he is really pushing it.

Yes, I agree. Ha.

I always try to tell myself that I shouldn't let a child dictate my mood. It sure does seem like the kid already knows how to work the system.
