Sometime around 30 is when it really hit me that I cannot drink like I was in my early 20s. Having kids really cuts into my incentive to drink a lot. Waking up at 5:30 am to change diapers makes it not worth it to drink. A hard night of drinking for me now is 5 beers or three liquor drinks.

24-25 was like the peak of my drinking ability.

Yeah. It is usually when I mix that I feel awful.

There probably has never been a point in my life where that wouldn't have made me pretty drunk, and not given me a painful hangover.
I think that you might be normal now. Congrats.

Y'all are all a bunch of rookies and/or pussies. What you describe above is the least amount I drink every day. I never get a hangover, unless I start drinking before noon, which happens on occasion on weekends.

No hangovers but 8 beers into a 12 pack and I'm ready for bed.

Beers have been making so sleepy lately, it's not funny, although I don't sleep well to begin with.

The older I get the more I have to plan my drinking strategically. If I'm going to have just a few, I stick to good beer or ONE kind of liquor. Distance drinking is bud light, and never mixed with liquor or heavier beer. Seems to be working but every once in a while I break the rules and end up on the couch for the next day. Also, drinking heavily two days in a row is now out of the question. I think back to what I did at Lsu and can't imagine how the hell I ever did it without dying.

If you can remember the exact amount of drinks you had the next morning, then you were never really a drinker

I'm only 24(almost 25) btw. Does it only get worse from here? It's like it happened over night a couple months ago. Every time I drink liquor i throw up now.
Sounds like an allergy or else you've changed some other habit. You should be in your drinking prime.

I can find some of the craft beers and do a mix/match 6 pack. I enjoy doing that.

Coors for me.

Same, although Friday night is usually get fricked up night. Even since my Sr. year of college, Sundays sometimes were pretty slammed, so I didn't drink as heavily sat. night.

There is beer in my refrigerator and I'm not drinking it. When that started happening, I realized there was a change in me.

My hangovers are definitely worse at 27, but I can drink a lot more now without becoming belligerent. I drink less frequently than I used to though. I think it's the very beginning of grown man strength.
I've learned to stick to my "bar" drink when I'm out (double Ketel One and soda with a lime) and drink water and Advil before bed, wake up and eat first thing in the morning with a Gatorade chaser.
But my hangovers definitely are worse. Eating before my stomach gets in knots is huge. I'll eat and go back to sleep and it's a lifesaver.

I just stopped "drinking" when I started a career. People with jobs go out "drinking".
If I drink now, it's a beer at dinner at a restaurant.

No one knows when this truly happens, it just does.

That's absurd. I know plenty of people, including myself, who have "careers" that go out drinking.
My physician, attorney, CPA, etc. friends still go out drinking.
Although I don't do it as much because I just like sleep so much these days.
