from 33 to 34 I went from around 60k to 275k. This year is looking like it is going to be higher as well. I still feel like all my engineer friends make more than me but I don't think that is the case. Honestly I feel like I've been doing something wrong like not reporting some big expense or not paying taxes because I'm earning a lot more than I expected.

These threads………

15-18% of the entire population makes six figures. 70% of the rant was making that at 25yrs old.

There have been like 185 posts in this thread. Probably less than 100 people claiming to make 100k. Do you know how many active posters there are on this forum? I’m 101 by the way and the answer is 3 months ago at the age of 34.

Early 30s. It doesn’t matter how much you make though. You just end up spending that money also. Nicer shite but still spent.

Probably in my late thirties when I was finally promoted to major.

Make it in retirement pay now.

The question was also worded in a way that demands self selection bias towards 6 figure earners.

It's funny knowing that poster got so annoyed by the thread that he looked up the percent of Americans who make 100k or more.

Got that sweet O6 pay.....

My current boss is pulling a Chicago suburb cop pension, soon to be O5 reserve retirement, and the dude is getting a full salary with what he's doing now, easily 150k or more.

Rat bastard.

In a couple years when inflation turns my $30k salary into $120k.

I was a general dentist for one year. I then went a did a 4 year residency to become an oral surgeon. So I mainly pull teeth and place implants these days.

I find it so funny that someone like my doctor or dentist could be a poster on OT

Not when you just put it all away into retirement/brokerage before it hits your bank. Tripled my income in the last 5 years (31) and still live like I did on the original income

My daughter is 1 year out of Georgia Tech with a ChemE. She was offered a handful of jobs. Three in Texas, one in Virginia, and two here in Georgia. The highest salary offer was $82k and was in Houston. She took one in Georgia for $77k. She only knew one out of her class that was offered $100k+. She stayed in touch with around 10 who got jobs starting in the $70k-$80k range. This from GT which has one of the top 3 ranked ChemE programs in the nation. I call bullshite on your claim.

How are these percentages figured? Is that total workforce or population? Ton of people have zero salary/income children, Retirees, students
