would much rather wear my sweats while flying. But I would not dress with half my arse sticking out. There’s a big difference.
No argument there.
There’s a common sense line between comfortable clothing and wearing a tank top and booty shorts with your hair net.

Saw the same but at least he had a pair of gym shorts on over the jammies.

I’m pretty sure this fad started with a certain demographic.
Not necessarily.
Hef used robes / pajamas as something of a sigil to promote his leisurely playboy persona before lax dress standards became as popular as they are now. He played the role of influencer before hip hop culture and other flavors of influencer glamorized a lazy aesthetic.
There are certainly times when anyone should feel okay to run errands in casual wear (even if it borders on sleepwear) as long as it isn't overly crass. It is a regrettable trend, though, inasmuch as it promotes some people not caring about their appearance or creates a context in which some people dress lazily as a statement that they are above making an effort to uphold cultural standards.

Yeah, what always makes me snicker is seeing these boys in PJ bottoms at the gym. With their crocks on. You're seriously gonna crush weights in that? I mean, what could look less masculine than wearing PJ's in public?
It's definitely a fad for teenagers because I see it all the time at my gym and local mall

It's a little weird of @chrome_daddy to think about whether fellow gym bros are presenting masculine enough.

People wearing pjs outside is a result of the dumb lazy shite the world allows now. While not a huge problem it is a result of the huge problem

they are marketed as 2 piece travel lounge wear on amazon.

Kids are taught to not care about appearance anymore. Boys aren't masculine and girls aren't feminine, it's the new norm while parents sit by and allow it to happen.

I don't think about it, the guy i.quoted does. I just notice all these kids in PJs at the gym

Ha. Many years ago I got home from church and put on my comfy pants. Then decided I needed to run to Walgreens real quick. I never see anybody I know when out. I did. I ran right into a guy friend from church. Never did that again.

I regularly see people in stores wearing pajamas
Posted on 1/17/25 at 9:45 pm to FLTech
I hate this trend. To be fair, we had these
but my parents refused to spend good $ on "pajamas or clown pants." I couldn't care less if someone where's them to my gym but anywhere else is lazy and slobbish to carry on your day in sleepwear.
I really dislike the fact every elementary school my kids have attended in 3 states and overseas had pajama days. It's promoting bad habits of slovenliness, fosters an unprofessional learning environment, and given all the pervy shizz degenerate teachers get caught doing it's unseemly to send kids to class in bedtime attire. Meanwhile teachers want to be respected as professionals and the schools to be revered as hallowed temples of knowledge yet they also partake in jammies days and wear jeans and athleisure gear regularly. Have some dignity unless you're active coaching or crawling on floors w pre-K to at most 1st graders.
If I ever say it's uncouth to wear a hat indoors even at the mall or Walmart I'll have officially transitioned to becoming my father.
