I'd concur with 2013'ish.

I think there is just a lot of delusion going on here, because that's arguably the peak of society. Things have gotten worse from there, but we're still WAY better than most periods since the mid-60s.

Additionally, social media REALLY ramped up in that era as Gen Z started hitting their teens.

So are things worse than 2013-ish? Yes, but 2013-ish is basically peak US

Does that mean it's "gone to shite" since then? No

When there stopped being any consequences for your actions.

Not to mention paid-for rioting. People literally burned down cities with minimal or no repercussions. You had elected officials set up bail funds for criminals.

90s were great. Post gulf/cold war with a few clinton bombs in tBalkans and Bill using that woman’s dress as a jizz sock. When things like the olympic bombing happened it didn’t get political. Dominique Moceanu GOAT

The 90s were peak society. Everything went to shite after December 31st 1999

I think that is incredibly accurate down to the date. 99/2000' was my senior year of high school. Up until then I was just living life day to day and here comes this Y2K thing that got everyone worked up. Then, nothing happened.

It was the first time I questioned what I was hearing from the "news" and it made me start to question everything I thought I knew up until that point.

I guess coming of age, turning 18 and experiencing that all at the same time changed my view of the world and people in general. I was way to trusting.

Eta: 2 years later 9-11 happened and that confirmed my suspicions of an evil I had never perceived.

Good post. The Fed printing $700 billion dollars to bail out Timothy Geithner’s goat fricking buddies in 2008 deserves an honorable mention imo.

The Trayvon martin thing definitely brought out a huge push for the stupidity of social media and the “i stand by so and so”

Like remember clock boy? White folks were all about jumping on that band wagon only to find it was complete BS

Birth of Algorithms!

That media utilized to create commercial political machine that whips people into a frenzy. All of them. Fox News, CNN, etc

Sitting atop a decades long declining trend in good parenting

Weak family structure (divorce, cheating spouses, two working parents / MIA / not present, outsourcing raising of kids / Nannie’s).

Something cracked at the foundation, though, when Buster Douglas knocked out Tyson.

There wasn't one single event, but imo it started with the family union going to hell when women entered the workforce. So WW2 era.

2005-ish, but it was still niche for a while because it was only allowed on college campuses.

Normies outside of college started adopted it what? 2008? 2009?

It differs for each person. About the time when you mature and start seeing the world in a different lens you start to think “it went to shite”.

You think 2013 was much worse then the problems we had in the 60’s?
