This shite is frickin funny as frick. I was talking with one of my lady friends the other day about kids and how I look at them from a logistical aspect (cost, etc) and she looked at me and said she never ever really thought about that.

Now all I could think of at that point was if she was just expecting for the poor fricker who knocked her up to pay for everything or that kids just magically came with their own things paid with love.

I am 30 years old. I go out when I want to, I do what I want, I have a great career, and I am in no way shape or form ready to report my arse to someone every day who decides if I get laid for the rest of my life.

It is much cheaper to have lady friends and a great frickin planner than it is to have a steady girlfriend who essentially sucks your wallet and soul.

Women are infinitely times different than when I started in the date game a little over a decade ago.

As someone alluded too, pussy stock is at an all time low.

Bumble - best app ever.

I'm confused. I thought we were taught that men weren't important or necessary to society at all.

This begs the question, why are people getting married later in life?

Because they think they're enlightened. Look no further than the sentiment on this board towards marriage. If you're not a bachelor fricking everything I'm sight then you're not happy.

This is the problem.

To high caliber, high achieving and insightful men, getting married and having children is a poor and risky decision. It shouldn't be this way.

I put the odds of this author having a y chromosome pretty low. I've never met a 31 year old man who was concerned about the lifespan of a relationship prior to proposal.

it's largely related to educational/professional goals

with the new society, you won't get out of grad school until 24-25

add in 4-5 years to get your career started and you're already 30

Worst of all, the more successful you are, the more dangerous it becomes.

Elin is a beautiful woman but I'm sure sleeping with her wasn't worth half a billion dollars.

what?

the nihlists are the guys behind the Alt-Right and meme wars that helped Trump immensely

And when given the choice between a female president and Trump, 42% of all women chose Trump and 53% of white women did so as well. It seems to me male nihilists have overestimated how ostracized they truly are. Women settled how important feminism and sexism truly is.

Despite the election, feminism and all of the other cultural pressures that have created this problem still exist and are part of the accepted narrative in academic circles and those who are 'in'. Look at all of the blubbering from all the media across all spectrums and those who buy it part and parcel.

I agree alot with what he said although the please share this is pretty gay. The treating your wife as your own daughters comment is kinda weird, I don't make sexist remarks and slap my daughters on the arse like I do my wife. I got married a tad older at 27, but not sure why so many think marriage is hiding in a closet jacking off and pity and shame, and boring. Some of ya'll on here make it sound like marriage is what we grew up seeing on tv with Al Bundy and such. I don't understand why people have such a hard time working through early struggles with their partners. It takes both the man and woman to "man up" to make it work, laziness is usually what kills a marriage.

Yeah, you can still have some "guys night out" which that term sounds gay to me. When I hang out with friends we have never called it that. It's not good to do all the time though, especially if you have kids. It's just a matter of both partners showing each other respect and spending time with them and your children. It's not a difficult task, it's pretty easy. Wife and I have been married for almost a decade and we still enjoy each other and make each other laugh all the time. Taking her to a Saints game soon and looking forward to it. Don't understand why people are so scared of marriage.

ETA: I'll add the wife and I are complete opposites. I love hunting and fishing, she hates it. Although she will fish some. I love dirty jokes and farting, she hates my jokes and my farting. Even our food preferences are much different, hell everything about us is different. We still have a strong marriage and we don't have to make it work, it works on it's own easily.

To some extent this reminds me of the race war that some people would have you believe is imminent. If you step out of these overly liberal and/or conservative circles I think you'll find a large chunk of Americans, if not the majority of Americans, aren't nearly as caught up in it as you think. I understand the media shapes the narrative, but I'm telling you that it isn't as bad as you're led to believe.

so true, although I got married at 27. I did all that in late teens and early 20s. By mid-20s I was miserable and found my future wife. Much happier now than I've ever been.

I should know. I was married and divorced young. It took some time but I was able to come to terms with the fact that my ex and I were just horrible for one another, although it was much easier to just blame marriage as an outdated relic of times gone by. Once I took a little accountability, I was open to the idea of marriage again, and did in fact remarry a few years later. Greatest decision I've ever made. My wife and family bring me as much or more joy as anything other experiences I've had while single.

I understand marriage isn't for everyone, but it gets way too much hate on here (understandable given the demographics, but still way over the top).

Yeah, good read right there. My comments I don't want for people to think that ALL marriages should be made to work though. Some just don't work out and that's understandable. Like you said, marriage gets way too much hate on here though. Then again, although there are many adults on here, it is a college based football forum so I understand why that sentiment is on here. In my late teens and early 20s I swore I'd never get married and have kids.

Same. I'm just extremely cautious and picky, for better or worse. Settling for the sake of having something is worse than nothing at all, IMO.

uh oh. I smell a red pill thread.

I'm getting married to a woman I love. I am content being single but she isn't. She wants to get married. I don't even care anymore. Whatever. I've obviously hit my 30s.
