When did high school graduations become so trashy?

People showing up late. Conversations all throughout the ceremony so you can’t hear or pay attention to any of the speakers. National anthem was a cringe fest. Folks steady walking around and blocking views. What a shite show

We went to a graduation last night. It was held at the school football stadium. Here’s what I observed.
1. Numerous people sitting in the stands holding massive bundles of up to 10 huge Mylar balloons, completely oblivious to the fact they were blocking the view of those seated behind them.
2. Prolonged hooting & hollering when their relative/friend had their name called. Several times this went on long enough to drown out the next graduate’s name being called.
3. Once their relative/friend’s name had been called people would begin talking & laughing loudly while the ceremony was still on going. This problem was made worse due to the fact the main PA system was not used. For some reason they instead set up to semi-large speakers that made it almost impossible hear even in ideal conditions.
4. People allowing their small children to get up to run around and play loudly on the grassy hill right next to the stands as though it was a Friday night football game instead of a graduation ceremony.

I know this may come as a surprise to you but Baton Rouge isn’t the only place with trashy folks. This was in Tennessee and it wasn’t my kid, it was my niece.

While there are private schools where this behavior is not going to happen at, not all private schools are above the idiot family members doing stupid shite during a graduation.
Not all private schools are equal.
