When did Dominos become the undisputed GOAT of domestic pizza?

Over the past few years Dominos has easily taken over the title of best macro pizza chain. Between their gamechanging Brooklyn crust, killer mobile app with tracking, and unique avenues such a boat-delivery (see above image), Dominos has enjoyed one of the greater major-modern corporate renaissances ever.
Pizza Hut, the champion of the 90s, is a rather pathetic caricature of it's pre-millenial heyday. Not sure what happened over there, but the co-branding with Taco Bell and Pepsi was obviously a disaster.
Papa John's led the pace for the early aughts but it is clear from the Peyton Manning knob slobbing to drunk NCAA basketball game antics that the Papa got a little carried away with his ego- and the product has directly suffered.

I'm still a papa man myself. But dominos stepped up thejr game. Aka starting slathering their crust with butter and garlic

Papa John's gives you banana peppers and garlic sauce. They win. Plus they have the best crust. And toppings. And Peyton manning.

Dominos was decent about six years ago when they introduced the garlic crust but most non chains offer delivery at this point.
I'm always going for a local pizza place over the shitty chains. Pizza Hut, Caesars, papa johns and dominos should go the way of blockbuster.

Pizza hut is the only place around me that delivers so whenever I decide to get a pizza delivered that's my only option, but it is good enough for me to use when I want pizza. I use to be a Domino's years ago, before they changed things up and I rarely ate pizza. It was complete shite. As for as Papa Johns... Its okay in a hurry.

Does Dominos do the same rewards points like papa johns that gets you a free pizza after a few purchases? If not, i'm gonna stick with papa johns for that reason only.

I want to vomit anytime I see the cheese oozing out of the crust in those commercials for the grilled cheese crust pizza.
