I’m not blaming anybody, just pointing out that the easiest, most plausible way to break this cycle (outside of welfare/entitlement reform) is for girls to wait until marriage to have sex.

Men have two options: abstain, or be men.

So it's on men.

Why do you believe women have no agency in their sexual decisions. If she doesn't think the man would be a good father, then its partially her fault for getting pregnant from him. Same thing for a man who sleeps with a woman who lacks good values.

Options for women
1) have sex with protection
2) have sex without protection
3) abstain
4) use legal system to get child support should you decide to keep the kid.
5) have abortion if you get pregnant

For men it's only 1-3. Men should support their children, but that goes for everybody. So really its 7 choices for women and 4 for men.

Nobody is saying a man should forsake his responsibility. Just saying that both sexes should make better decisions. Women are not entirely innocent, they make choices that have consequences.

Early 90's. Clinton years

I think this is fair. The storyline on Murphy Brown with her becoming a single mother became a hot-button political topic when Dan Quayle criticized it. There was considerable cultural pushback to the notion that a single mother couldn't successfully raise a child at the time.

Roger Ebert actually detested how Hollywood portrayed broken and single parent homes in this period. The mother was often saintly and the father was usually a cliched deadbeat or totally absent, and I think it was sort of accepted as conventional wisdom.

There's stupidity and irresponsibility on both sides for sure...and there many on both sides who do take responsibility... but seems many more "fathers" than "mothers" abandon the responsibilities a father has to his child

But everyone agrees those "fathers" are scumbags. Have you ever heard anyone touting deadbeat dads as heroic? Due to the government safety net dysfunctionals of all races have come to accept childbirth as a de facto rite of passage into womanhood. Hey, she gets her own house and a check. Dat mean she grown, yo. (And yeah, white trash does speak ebonics.)

I've actually spoken with people who work with low income families. There are always diamonds in the rough who the media love to highlight. But there are those who abuse the system. The reason why these kids are so bad in school is a lack of parenting from the MOTHER AND FATHER. I acknowledge that at least the mother is there. But that is not synonymous with rearing your child to be a productive citizen.

Dont believe me, look up the correlation between single parenthood homes and incarceration rates.

My gf is a mother of 4 and the most incredible woman I’ve ever met. The kids celebrate mother’s day AND Father’s Day with her

Single women are always to blame. Blaming the man is stupid. I have no sympathy for single moms.

YOU CHOSE to have a kid with this man. YOU, as a woman, are supposed to be as selective as possible. That's why in so many species you see the males compete in feats of strength and ability for the right to mate with the females.

Single moms have themselves to blame because they chose, as the selective gender, to have kids with an unworthy man.

I know for certain that in order to get public housing, ones with children get priority. Hence, there are some women that have children simply to get free housing.

Sorry if this point has already been discussed.

This country loves single moms. The day we starting celebrating getting pregnant outside of marriage was the day we went down the tubes as a country. The results are clear as day to prove this

This country has been turning logic on it's head for a while now. And reaping the consequences.

I don't buy into accidentally getting pregnant. You go inside, it's not an accident. You frick without birth control or condoms, it's not an accident. It's reckless behavior.

Lol. Being a single mom of 3 does not mean the father or fathers are not present.

You have gone full tard.

Single mom does not mean the dad is not paying or taking care of the kids.

Once in a while I check out the Maury show.

One girl on last week was on with the 7th guy trying to find out if he was the baby daddy. He wasn't so on to the next one and she had 2 other kids as well.

The government dole must be pretty good.

Your question is stupid.

When did being an ostracized indentured sperm donor become cool?

Never. Single parenting has never been cool.

MTV’s “16 and Pregnant”, made it a “badge of honor” to get pregnant and become a single Mom. Non of those kids had a chance, and the common denominator was that their parents were shite bags.

One of them ended up doing porn, so there’s that.
