When asked "How big is your house?" Do you exaggerate, understate, or say exactly?

If you have a coworker ask you, "How many square feet is your house?" How do you answer?
We know around here, or to people you are trying to pick up at bars, the answer is to multiply by 2-3X the actual square footage.
But to a coworker, what would you say? I typically understate it, for I don't want to seem like I'm bragging, especially to those that I know live in smaller homes.
However, I know some that completely make it up and say something like 3000 square feet, when their house is really about 2100 heated and cooled sf, plus a 2 car garage and back porch and possibly attic space they'll count as square footage.

I answer honestly because IDGAF what other people think about the sq ft of my house

Kids these days don’t know how good they have it.
When I grew up we lived in a rundown shack, 17 of us living in one room with holes in the roof and a dirt floor

Depends on how far away I am when I’m looking at it.

Where do you work that people ask you how many sq ft your house is?

I dont understand why having a big house is that great. Its alot of work and more upkeep.
We have a 1550 square foot house not counting the garage and its plenty big enough. Rather spend our money traveling.

I tell the truth, 2300 sq ft. I don’t feel like there’s anything to hide.

Current house is 2048 sq feet
Just put offer on an 2700 sq foot house.
I do not qualify as an official OT house baller yet.

Trying to impress people with material things that you own is pretty sad to me.

Your shack had a roof? What, you think you’re better than me?

I lie.
According to all records, my house is 2,996 sq. ft.
I say it's 3,000 sq. ft.
ETA:
I also lie about my height.
I'm actually 6'2.75".
I tell people I'm 6'3".
I also lie about my penis size.
It's actually 7.25".
I tell woman it's 9.9".

I agree, this is another reason I understate. But, I just know some that just blatantly make up shite. Very cringe worthy and sad, IMO.

My house is 2775, I just say 2800 because it sounds weird to say it down to the exact foot.
ETA: or I’ll say a bit under 2800, I’ve never been asked by a co-worker though.

3110 sq ft living, closer to 4500 square ft including back patio and 3 car garage. I don’t really have a reason to exaggerate. And I don’t feel bad for living in a larger house bc I’ve earned it.
Posted on 8/12/19 at 8:39 pm to East Coast Band
Say exactly. 3130 sqft living.

I'm not knocking people for wanting nice things but those that garner their self worth from trying to impress others with them are generally quite shallow and usually not likeable people.

Ahh so this is a subtle brag thread.
It’s such a hassle having to understate my sq ft

Well, I say it was a shack. It was a shack to us, but really it was a hole in the ground in a landfill with a rusty piece of tin on top. And every morning we’d have to wake up an hour before the sun came up, clean the landfill, eat a handful of rotting fish, then go to work at the mine for 13 hours for 2 bucks a week. Then when we’d get home our dear old dad would thrash us with a cane until we went to sleep.
But we were happy, because we were poor

Was said shack on the outskirts of New Orleans? And did you have a sister named Fancy?
