I was a passenger in a boat that didn't stay in the water. Went up an embankment that was lined with boulders to prevent erosion, and ended up a few feet away from the guard rail of the highway at the top. Around 2am.

I was 8 and out on my grandfather's houseboat and got seasick in the middle of the night. Spent the entire night throwing up and then the next day as we were on the way to Ship Island from Louisiana.
I was miserable and when we arrived back home I hated the water and refused to get back on a boat for several years after that.

Then one day we were on their boat, not sure what kind it was but a larger boat and not a houseboat. Anyway, on our way back to ship island, we decided to swim because we saw some dolphins and I was fricking attacked by a dolphin. Like the damn thing had me pinned against the boat and kept "punching" me until my grandfather reached over and pulled me back in the boat. I was maybe 12 at the time and the reason why I hate fricking dolphins to this day.

Friends and I were fishing when the boat motor died on the opposite side of the lake from my buddies cabin. We only had 1 paddle to 4 guys. Instead of paddling we just jumped in the lake and pulled/pushed the boat around the outside of the lake. Not sure how far it was, but it took us about an hour to do it

The time I thought it would be a good idea to paddle a canoe 5 miles from Pier 90 all the way to Lake Cataouatche to go hog hunting on Salvador WMA. Thankfully a kind baw in a boat saw me at around the halfway point on the paddle back and offered to tow me back in.

Sunk a 16ft flat straight to the bottom of Catfish Lake at 3:00AM. We were pretty much in the very middle of the lake and the boat was way overloaded with 5 people, ice chest, and a generator running lights. The long tail driveshaft was a bit too short for the height of the transom, so we were basically pushing water and didn't realize it. We hit a rogue wave and water came over the front of the boat. It dove straight down 7 feet to the bottom of the lake.

All five of us were almost treading water with no life jacket and the tide was on its way up. Luckily, there was a rig with workers on it that we were able to notify with our spotlight. They sent a crew boat and we were out of the water by 4:30. Pretty shitty experience.

I haven't ridden in a boat without a PFD since.

Sitting on the back of a friend's houseboat when i was around 12 or so watching skiers on the river at West Monroe. All of a sudden, one boat cut right over the top of another and I actually saw a guys head come off and go flying through the air.
