Tell her that’s what dollar general and the small pints of milk are for

leaves thongs on closet floor, puppy finds within minutes and shreds, then i get told to buy more thongs. We have had puppy since October. I've bought probably 50-60 pair since then.

Im convinced she purposefully sucks at loading dishwasher bc she knows i'll redo it. Just throws giant bowls in the bottom, blocking half the rack.

also a mile-high trashcan filler. She HATES taking out trash, but goes through a bag a day during the summer. WE cook a lot so this is ok by me.

she still loves me and loves to frick so its all good

Mine has a problem answering the simplest questions with anything other than another question.

How’s it going?

What’s wrong?”

What are you up to?

“Why do you ask?”

Do you want to go get some dinner tonight so you don’t have to cook after work?

“Why do you want to do that?”

I usually repeat the question and if I still don’t get some sort of answer, I just leave the room. Thankfully I haven’t married her because this shite is going to lead to me breaking up with her.

She's a hoarder. Brings home used shite we don't need and just piles it up in the basement.

One positive about mine is she is very frugal with money and we keep separate accounts and just split bills at end of the month. The fact she has to pay some keeps her from leaving lights on. I will say we never argue about money or have issues there. She is great about most thing, keeps house clean, does the laundry. Most of the bad habits are quirky shite that can be irritating at times but overall not a big deal

She doesn't put the toilet lid down. I even bought soft close lids.

Best way to describe it, she swallows her drinks in her throat instead of initiating it in her mouth. It's the biggest gulping sound an animal in the wild can make. It's fricking annoying.

Spills. It's usually just water but she manages to spill something at least once a week. Last week it was a cup of salsa on a nice rug

She is a strong independent woman... till something needs maintenance or to be fixed.

If something breaks in her car, she’ll tell me while I’m away at work, instead of just taking it in.

Case in point yesterday. I had to go out of town and our HS son had a summer league basketball game. She knew I may not make it back in time to drive them there, so I may have to meet her there.

The passenger window on her SUV can stick sometimes. She saw a coworker at CFA and rolled down the window to say hi. She knows it sticks. I’ve told her, don’t roll it down or take it to get fixed. She never takes it in. Then it gets stuck down. And it’s pouring rain. So now her window is down and she can’t drive to the games really.

Now it’s an absolute emergency that I get home in time (from 3 hours away) to pick them up to take them to the game because she did something she knew not to do, or could have been fixed at any time.

Tl:dr

My wife acts independent until she needs something and has a complete aversion to taking care of AC, plumbing, or auto care and thinks I should handle all of those things, even during the middle of the work day or when I’m traveling for work.

She eats an apple after dinner EVERY frickING NIGHT. You have any idea how maddening it is to listen to someone chewing a fricking apple every single night..... if we ever get a divorce that is 100% the reason why

could be. west texas farm girl?

i would have 0 problems doing everything she wants and being her knight and shining armor on any of those. just don't pull that bullshite independence on me, and then act like making a phone call and/or scheduling somebody (even myself if available) to pick her up from the mechanic is difficult.

or if i can't or won't do it, don't act like it's more inconvenient for you than me and it's putting you out that i can't do it at that moment.

i don't know if it's a holdover from her dad doing every single thing like that for her mom, but her mom doesn't pretend to be independent. you can't have it both ways.

sure they can, in my house I'm the only one that seems to have the ability to take the garbage out, change a light bulb or roll of toilet paper, whenever she says "I need to (fill in the blank with some household task,)" as if she's talking out loud to herself, it really means "you need to..."

My wife is extremely quiet natured and is also a small woman so her voice already doesn't carry at all.

She'll be quietly talking and then get angry and upset when someone talks over her in a group setting, she takes it as a sign of disrespect when in reality nobody can fcking hear her

that stuff she's fine on. she takes care of the house, fantastically. it's just whenever there is outside help needed that she never ever wants to get involved with. even if it's just scheduling somebody to come while i'm out of pocket, even if i will be there when they come to make sure we're not taken advantage of.
