What's your opinion of people who ask for prayers because of a cold?

People who post on Facebook, "prayers for _____, please. Dealing with a cold and sinus crap."

Just needing an excuse to get some attention?

Attention hoooahs.

ETA: slightly better than the “Don’t ask just pray!” people.

Not trying to sound too cool for school, but that's an encapsulation of why I deactivated FB 2 years ago and haven't looked back.

The amount of attention-whoring that made me roll my eyes vastly outweighed the status updates that legitimately interested me.

In short, being on FB was a waste of time.

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as they aren't using the "big gun" prayers like in church prayers or before Christmas dinner prayers. As long as they use first line prayers like the ones you say stopped at a red light it's ok. Prayer resistant bacteria is a big concern these days

I think they’re ridiculous. I have quite a few that posts “prayers for the unsaid,” or something to that extent.

God doesn’t read or have a Facebook. Please stop.

I can’t stand when people clog up the prayer waves with this little bullshite. Like what is god is too busy filtering through this cold non-sense and then he doesn’t have enough time to see my Saints Super Bowl request?

What's worse are those assholes with cancer always hogging the prayer requests. Like they think they are so f*ing special. Get in line with your petty BS.

Maybe they have AIDS and that little cold could kill them.

Tell them you'll pray 24/7, and when it goes away on its own in a few days take all the credit.

Got no problems with those guys, if I want to ignore them, well it’s FB so that’s easy.

Now when people run to the OT to post about someone they think is an attention whore, well.. someone seems trigger someone else is stealing attention from them on FB.

in general, people who ask publicly for prayers are just looking for attention

"hey everybody, my problems are worse than your problems. feel bad for me"

I need prayers for special intentions.

That's my favorite.. The vague and ambiguous mystery prayers.

Dear big guy (or gal just in case since I've never seen or met you) in the sky, I need prayers for someone on Facebook, but I'm not sure for what but you probably know since you keep tabs on everyone just like Santa with his naughty and nice list. Amen.
