Saw a guy on Tv yesterday state that the ideal salary for most was 52k a year. That allowed you to enjoy your life to the fullest. After that quality of life went down.

It was a 110k if you lived in a major city like NYC or LA.

So what's your number?

As a young single guy, I'd do just fine with 75k. 100k would allow me all the savings/investing activities I'd like to be in.

Wouldn’t have a hard set number but I’d think somewhere in the 80-90k range, but having enough flexibility in my schedule and a decent number of vacation days so I can travel.

I try to do at least 2 international trips and a handful of other trips a year.

Probably what I'm at now.

Boss lets me do my own thing, work from home when I need to, unlimited sick days, four weeks of vacation.

And I'm well north of 52k so it's all gravy.

Say what?

That doesn't make any sense.

I can see diminishing returns, but I can't see how it would go down.

Lol

Enjoy life as in pay the bills with little savings or vacation time?

My idea of enjoying life to the fullest would require 3-500k a year. Enough to travel anywhere in the world, have a nice home with a nice getaway vacation home and some hunting land, along with a fishing boat on the coast.

No it's that any extra money didn't bring gainful happiness. I.e. the salary amount provided the majority of basic needs and wants. Also pretty sure it's 75k

Problem is those 300-500k salaries are coupled to colossal stress and responsibilities. Most making that kind of change are always working but their wife and kids get to live the life...
