4 10s
12 paid vacation days
$90k/year
Commute under 20 minutes each way even with peak traffic

That would be ideal. Ain't never gonna happen, though.

A few years ago the number was 75k. LINK

It's probably around 90-100k

I honestly think people get bored if there's no struggle at all.

My idea of enjoying life to the fullest would require 3-500k a year. Enough to travel anywhere in the world, have a nice home with a nice getaway vacation home and some hunting land, along with a fishing boat on the coast.

I pretty much already have this minus the hunting land and fishing boat. And that's on 200k a year household income.

You could get all you wanted for under 300k a year easily as long as you didn't want 3000 acres or something.

That's pretty weak. I get over twice that now which is a bit overkill, but I'd want 20 or so.

Not single but no kids. That’s why we travel as much as we can now. If/when we decide to have kids we won’t have the chance as easily.

When you're working 4 10's, you really don't need any more than that once you add in holidays like Mardi Gras, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc.

Not working fridays makes every weekend a long weekend where one can drive out to the beach or the camp and have it be worthwhile. 12 days of paid vacation on 4 10's is equal to 15 days of paid vacation working 9-5.

Problem is those 300-500k salaries are coupled to colossal stress and responsibilities. Most making that kind of change are always working but their wife and kids get to live the life...

The president of the company I work for makes around that and he gets a lot of free time and has many of the things I mentioned. My 70k plus benefits is nice though as a single 27 yr old with no kids. But my job has a lot of stress tied to it. But I'm 3rd in the pecking order to be President if I do good and stick with the company. The Pres. and VP are both in their mid 50s so puts me in good position in 10 years

Say what? That doesn't make any sense.

I've seen reports that suggest happiness increases with salary up to $50-75k, at which point there is no correlation between increased salary and increased happiness.

To be clear by fishing boat I mean one with a cabin capable of 2-3 day trips out to sea that you pay to keep in a slip. So anywhere from 250-500k boat. I'd like about 1,000 acres of good deer/duck land with a cabin on it

I can see that. If I wanted more stress and shitty work/life balance id just start my own business.

I wouldn’t want my bosses job which pretty much means that I’ll be in sales for the foreseeable future.
