Did they ever fix the issue with ease and apple care play where you could not control the radio volume while running waze. I deleted it when it was causing issues and haven’t gone back.

Google maps

Every time I try to use Waze it ends up trying to get me to ride share and other crap that I don't want to navigate through. I just want to hit Home and go. I don't need to answer questions and go through different screens. They ruined it IMO but that's because they want people to use google maps instead. Also I prefer Google's directions compared to Waze.

One of the most annoying things is when they guide you around traffic by having you take an exit and then jump ahead 40 cars with the on ramp. Basically encouraging a-hole driving.

Mapquest has an app that is simple to use. I prefer it over Google Maps, because Google is constantly changing their app and I don't find it to be user friendly. Mapquest is basic and doesn't change.

I don’t use GPS or mapping services anyways because I’m a male but I use them to see how long the drive will take before turning them off when we start driving.

How does your manhood help you avoid getting stuck in unexpected delays from traffic, accidents, etc? When you’re stuck on the interstate because it’s 18 wheeler mating season and you didn’t have your gps app on to tell you to gtfo of the interstate at the next exit, do you feel extra manly?

i have waze, google maps and the iphone map app. i typically use the iphone app. i'm not sure why. it may be slightly more intuitive to use.

i used waze on the way to perdido a few times and it gave me a staggering amount of information that was usually not timely.

Traveling for work and going hit that up before you leave and print out the directions to put down on the passenger seat.

Had someone ask me last week how to print out a map from Waze.

I've been using an app called Scout GPS for about a decade. It's always worked pretty well for road trips. Google maps in town for like a restaurant or something.

Probably the dude who cuts across 3 lanes of traffic at the last second because you didn't know your exit was coming up.

If the trip is long enough to have to check how long it will take, then the time will probably change on your way. Re-routes around traffic is the best reason to use gps. But if you need to turn it off to feel manly you do you.

Google for Nav and Waze for cruising

For the life of me I can't figure out why Google and Apple Maps don't have a driving mode like Waze.

I don't need directions across town most of the time, but I turn on Waze because it alerts to hazards (or police cars), even without me having to input a navigation destination.

For navigating while driving, I mostly use Waze. Google or Apple every now and then. Waze does seem to drain my battery more than the other 2 though.

Google to look up stuff on phone or computer.

You can turn those notifications off. I only have it set for directions and police notifications while driving, because as you said the amount of "hazard reported ahead" or "vehicle stopped on shoulder ahead" notifications is annoying.
