Every birthday party I went to parents dropped their kids off and then left. If you don't want to handle the responsibility of watching kids then don't throw a party.

You're doing them wrong. If you can't monitor a party of a handful of 10 year olds then you have no business throwing a party.

I find it absurd how grandiose children's parties have gotten in general. I wouldn't have assumed you had to stay at a 10 year old's party either. Below 8, I would just because They aren't mature enough to be without mom. But at what age do you stop having to hover? If the hosts don't want to watch a bunch of kids, don't invite a bunch of kids.

Unbelieveable that helicopter parents are now making other peers try and become helicopter parents. Give me a damn break... it's not like your dropping your son off at a college football game, its a trampoline center... a family environment. Im sure little timmies parents can watch a 10 year old for 1 1/2 or 2 hours with no issues.
Sadly most parents are too blame these days for their children being sissies. I am embarrassed for any child past the age of 9 who has parents that think it is necessary to go to every event their child is invited.

People used to drop their kids off when I was a kid. We had all my parties at Celebration Station and there was no way parents were hanging out there unless it was their kids bday.

Ha ha I am far from a Helicopter parent. My son is 6 yrs old, there needs to be supervision provided by the kids own parent
